October Thrift

Adventure Shopping

Followed my instinct (and some need for alone time) and found a grail at Savers... a Calico Critter Supermarket!!

When I initially saw it, I had a feeling it was legit because the material seemed up to quality. I checked the manufacturer stamp underneath and confirmed it was made in Japan. Feeling the adrenaline rush, I looked up the playset on my phone to confirm.

I checked all the other toy bags in the store and asked staff, but none of the props were donated. Still a great find!

This is the official store picture:

The stickers are peeling and some are misplaced. I have plans to repaint the signage and make my own props. There are spare parts sold online, but they are beyond my budget. I think it will be more rewarding if I customize the playset and make smaller items out of clay.

I literally have dreams every night about thrifting items like this... so I am super excited!!!

For only $3.50?!?!

I also took photos of a variety of other playsets. This location doesn't usually have many dollhouses... I just ended up on a lucky day!

Seeing these things gives me inspiration for my next project!
