Whale Watch

October 13 2024

My mom took Robin and I out on a whale watch to celebrate all three of our birthdays. I brought this little baby (from the Baby Sea Friends blind bag), and made it my goal to get a photo with some marine life! As you can see it worked... just not as I had intended.

The only whale sighting was the occasional spray and this shy Sei Whale's dorsal fin peaking up out of the water.

As the boat tour ventured out from the bay, we saw some frisky dolphins leaping out of the water. Their backs were a deep blue like the ocean, with yellow-white bellies. They raced alongside us. It was definitely the best part of the trip.

I'm glad we saw something at least! The sky was cloudy and the air still. It was comfortable. When the boat was moving at 30mph, I was freezing. I'm thinking whales probably have more appearance in the summertime.

Afterwards we visited my mom's campsite and had a fire in the rain. Cozy and different. We slept really good when we got home lol

Here are some more photos from the trip.
